Mahonia aquifolium : Oregon Grape

Holly shaped evergreen leaves. Bright yellow flowers in early spring become blue berries. The roots have an antiseptic quality. The foliage turns a bronze red in fall with some leaves turning a bright red in mid winter. It grows to 5' and prefers moderate to dry soils.
